Meesho Becomes a Unicorn with $300 Million Series E Funding
Indian social commerce startup Meesho has raised $300 million in Series E funding led by SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund 2, valuing the company at $2.1 billion
The investment makes Meesho a unicorn, joining the growing list of Indian startups valued at more than $1 billion
Existing investors Prosus Ventures and Facebook also participated in the round
Meesho plans to use the funds to strengthen its talent pool across all areas, including technology, product, and business
The company provides an online sales platform for micro, small and medium businesses (SMBs) across India and serves more than 13 million individual entrepreneurs in helping them start online businesses.
