AlMakinah Receives $20,000 Grant for Women's Coding Program
AlMakinah, a non-profit organization in Egypt, has received a $20,000 grant from P&G Global and the World Economic Forum to support their all-women coding program, GearUp Women Edition
The program, which will take place in January 2019, will teach 15 women the basics of front-end web development
Seven of the participants will then have the opportunity to continue on to the FireUp program, a full-stack web development bootcamp
The grant will provide full scholarships for both programs, covering the cost of tuition, materials, and other expenses
AlMakinah aims to promote gender diversity in the tech industry and provide women with the skills and opportunities to succeed in the field.
